Fueling Your Fire

Maya Angelou lives on in her quotes. One of my favorites:

“You are the sum total of everything you have ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgo–its all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive.”

Guess I have lived long enough to truly appreciate the depth of this quote by a wise one.

Fall Reflection

As fall fully engages us with the prism of beautiful colors of orange, yellow, and reds blazing in the leaves and across the sky and reflected in our decor, the vibrancy it brings will sustain us as we accept the invitation to reflect.

Soon enough the more neutral colors of winter (depending where you live) will call out for “nesting,” our favorite warm comfort foods and with earlier sunsets this is a better than ever time to go within.

The Happiness Factor For Mindful Leaders

Research shows happiness increases productivity and makes us more successful.

Interestingly, it seems to help us:

  • to procrastinate less
  • be more motivated
  • have higher energy
  • increase concentration

To apply the happiness factor to your leadership requires mindfulness and self awareness!

It begins with you and how you lead your life, because if you cannot demonstrate a better way of being and be an example ofthe benefits, why should they follow?

Leadership: What’s Happiness Got to do With it?

“Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof…..”

Like Pharrell Williams’ song, “Happy,”  gone wildly viral, so too are a multitude of books and articles focusing on happiness.

One of the descriptions in my branding, based on feedback, is that I am happy, joyful and exude ageless vigor.  I guess I have the happiness factor in my favor.

But what is it exactly?  How does it relate to our success?
